Participation in a special education program can occur through a number of services on an array of sites. Enrolment at Mackay District Special School is dependent upon certain eligibility criteria. To ascertain your child’s eligibility please contact the school.
Our school provides educational programs for students aged between 5-18 years with an intellectual impairment. A large percentage of our school population also has additional disabilities, including autism, hearing, vision and physical impairments.
For children of compulsory school age, enrolment is subject to the process outlined in Education Queensland’s Procedure: Enrolment in State Primary, Secondary and Special School which can be located on the Department of Education, Training and Employment website.
To be enrolled in our school students must be diagnosed with an intellectual impairment.
Parents and carers are asked to read our school’s Enrolment agreement (DOC, 43 KB).
